The editing company Shueisha announced on April 22nd that the manga Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare (“Love, be love, leave, be left” in English) will be getting both an anime and live action movie adaptation.
The anime movie will be produced by A-1 Pictures and is scheduled to premiere in May while the live-action film will be directed by Takahiro Miki and will premiere in August 2020. Takahiro Miki actually worked on a live-action adaptation of another Io Sakisaka manga before, Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride in English).
The movie stars Eiji Akaso as Kazuomi Inui and Minami Hamabe as Akari Yamamoto. Riko Fukomoto plays the role of Yuna Ichihara and Takumi Kitamura plays Rio Yamamoto.
Io Sakisaka started publishing the manga in June 2015 and the final chapter will be published on Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret, a shojo manga magazine, on May 13th and the 12th and final volume will be published in June
The story follows two girls who think differently when it comes to love. Yuna wants a perfect dream-like love while Akari thinks realistically and believes you can become better at love. Everything gets interesting when the girls become friends, Yuna falls in love with Akari’s brother and Akari falls in love with Yuna’s childhood friend.
Sakisaka is a very well known and talented shojo manga writer and her works receive a lot of love and success. Will Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare” be a hit like Ao Haru Ride?
