Everybody was hyped for this week’s episode and it is finally out. In the first episode for this second part of season 3, Armin managed to find where Reiner was hiding and Levi attacked him and after that, we got to see more titans appear and thus prepare for a huge fight.
So, in this episode, Reiner transformed into the armored titan, started climbing the wall, trying to go through it in order to kill the horses which are the only way for the scouts to escape. But Erwin had the brilliant idea to send Eren as a bait to protect them, knowing that Reiner won’t have a choice but to go after him instead. In fact, since Eren was heading towards the beast titan to whom Erwin also sent Levi, Reiner couldn’t let both of them get to him. In an intense fight between Eren and the armored titan, Eren manages to get an opening for the other scouts to attack with new weapons. They managed to make quite a damage that was hopefully lethal.
This episode is really interesting; it covers pretty important parts of the story and most importantly the fight between Eren and Reiner both in titan form. They fought fiercely and we could pretty much say this was the main event of the episode. For a fight that wasn’t expected so early in the season it was a very compelling one. It wasn’t a one sided fight either and the twist at the end was epic.
We also got a closer look at Erwin’s perspective of this war. We got to see him strategizing but also thinking deeply about the past and future and the countless casualties and people who died over the years and showing a new side of his personality in which he might seem gloomy but also very down to earth and as determined as he’s always been.
And one of the most exciting things that were set up in the episode was that, while assigning squads, Erwin chose to ask Levi to go against the beast titan which might go to an intense fight in the upcoming episodes. And you could notice that while taking the road to the enemy, we were able to get a preview of Levi’s fighting skills while protecting his squad and giving his usual command of “no casualties.”
The next episode is titled “Descent” and we will hopefully have the confirmation of Reiner’s death in it. We could also see from the sneak peek that Bertolt will finally show up and start going against the scouts.
