After the release of the “Gray and Juvia” episode on May 4, Fairy Tail’s character Juvia has trended on Japan’s twitter.
3 years after the release of Fairy Tail’s 499th chapter, Fairy Tail fans and most particularly, Gray and Juvia fans watched the awaited episode. Gray and Juvia, a Fairy Tail ship, lose control over their actions and are forced to fight to the death.

The episode gained the approval of some of the fans. However, most others weren’t completely satisfied with the results.
The main reason for this is that both Juvia’s death and revival were put in the same episode. Unlike the manga, viewers claimed that the short interval between Juvia’s death and coming back spoiled the emotional impact that was supposed to occur. Few other reasons were stated, such as the lack of animation and the short duration of some important scenes (like Gray’s mourning, and the fight between Gray and Invel later on).
However, a clearly positive point was made by everyone. It was agreed that Gray and Juvia’s seiyuus Yūichi Nakamura and Mai Nakahara made a “fulfilling” performance.

One thing I’d like to give a shoutout for is the performances of Yuichi Nakamura and Mai Nakahaea who were clearly up to par.
