After a new movement on the villains’ side in last week’s episode with Overhaul’s appearance, we also get introduced to a major character this season on the heroes’ side. In this episode we get a closer look at Sir Nighteye and his agency.
Since the arc season 4 is based on is called “The Internship Arc,” the students of class 1-A of UA Academy are looking for internships with pro heroes outside of their school. Last episode, we saw Midoriya seeking out help from Gran Torino and All Might, hoping they could introduce him to a pro hero he could work under. After advising him to meet Sir Nighteye with his upperclassman and also one of the most important characters this arc, Mirio Togata, the two got to his agency to meet up with him.
The episode starts with Mirio and a distressed Midoriya already in Nighteye’s office, trying to make good first impressions in front of the pro hero. The biggest challenge that came in front of Midoriya was to not make any wrong move in front of Nighteye, since he is a challenge to please.
Nighteye then puts Midoriya’s skills to the test in a very entertaining scene filled with inner dialogue in a very typical Boku no Hero Academia fashion.
During the challenge, Midoriya questions his purpose of being a hero while Nighteye questions the reason behind All Might choosing him to be his successor. It leads Midoriya to wonder about alternate situations if he had not met All Might.
And even though Midoriya fails Nighteye’s challenge, his strategy and method of using his quirk were enough to impress the pro hero and make him accept Midoriya into his Agency for the internship.
We also get to know about what happens next with the agency’s secret investigation about Overhaul and Midoriya’s new involvement in it.
“Boy Meets…” was a very classic BNHA episode that brought to us the real essence of the anime for the first time this season, and it showed us in a fun and creative way that the characters have developed and are striving to improve even more.
